Michelle’s background

Michelle Wiseman is the Conservative Candidate for Bury South and this is her online diary. Michelle has been a Councillor for the Pilkington Park Ward since 2003 and has lived in Whitefield since 1983 with her husband and three children.  Her ‘day job’ is Chief Executive of Manchester Jewish Community Care which runs the Crumpsall based Nicky Alliance Day Centre.

Michelle is Chairman of the Working Lives Foundation a Charitable Trust set up to establish a sound archive of how people work and live today especially focussing on work-life balances.

Michelle is Chairman of Whitefield and Unsworth Area Board and is Shadow Spokesperson on the Safe, Strong and Confident Communities Scrutiny Commission. Michelle also shares the role of Conservative Group Chairman with Unsworth Councillor Sam Cohen.

Michelle’s other roles on the Council have included sitting on the Healthier and Safer Communities SC and Children and Young People.

In her spare time Michelle enjoys quizzes, going to the theatre (and is a member of the Whitefield based Garrick Theatre) and playing bridge.
